M-wild-portrait2

Hello .

Fresh air, rising temperatures and everything is in bloom - time for spring cleaning! We've swung our virtual feather dusters and spruced up the WILDDESIGN website.

But our offices are not gathering dust either. In Munich, our office managers Niclas Wagner and Sebastian Wolf, whom I introduce to you in today's newsletter, take care of that. For a personal meeting, a trip to Nuremberg or Berlin might be worthwhile soon. Once again, I wish you an entertaining 04 minutes - and in the next issue I'll tell you where and with whom we'll be setting up our next office.

Yours Markus Wild / today "featuring" Nic and Seb

IT'S ABOUT TIME...

Why is it so difficult to write about yourself? It is usually easy to do it for our customers, but it kept us more than busy for our own website.

Now, we are even more excited that our new website is online!
Many thanks to Sebastian, Björn, Alex and the whole team involved.

It's more than just an update:

> Our newly arranged services (see also below).
> More info about our team
> Our philosophy and management
> Our methods and processes
> And, of course, our MedTech case studies

Of course, you'll still find all the important information from our blog and on how to start your project safely. Feel free to have a look around and send us your feedback!

... OUR MUNICH DREAM TEAM

That's how a bond is forged: Fresh out of university and highly motivated, Sebastian Wolf and Niclas Wagner started the new Munich design office in 2017 with Sven Dörhage. For more than five years now, they have been creating the right mood and growth in WILDDESIGN's southernmost location.

Niclas first studied mechanical engineering and then became aware of industrial design through an acquaintance - exactly what he was looking for. Every topic means a new challenge and especially in medical technology, there are always new obstacles. Form follows function, function follows need: For him, the solution often lies in the combination of design and usability.

Sebastian, a native of Munich, initially studied industrial design in Munich. But that didn't stop him from designing digital systems and interfaces in addition to products. In any case, he is always concerned with the symbiosis of aesthetics and functionality. So he is at home in both worlds, which is an excellent prerequisite for medical design.

After Sven moved to the new Design Brewery in Magdeburg in the summer of 2021, the decision was easy for the committed team to take over the management in Munich as a duo.

Niclas focuses on the external impact, Sebastian on the organization in the office. As a result, the transition went smoothly. Over the years, relationships with clients and the network in the surrounding area have been strengthened. This also made it possible to expand the young team in Munich - and to enlarge the office last year. About 100 m² more, which is now shared by ten permanent employees plus interns. For the latter, it is now possible to live in a shared apartment especially for our interns. Work thrives on exchange with colleagues, and so the popular football table in the new office is surely not to be missed.

Not only tidied up...

In the course of redesigning our web presence, we have also redefined our medical design services. Our step-by-step development over the past years is now available in our 4-part service structure. Those who already know us will get to know us anew!

> Physical Medical Device Design
> Digital Design
> Usability Engineering
> Strategic Design

Today, real innovation in medical technology requires a holistic approach. High production costs, excessive regulation, global competition - the current challenges for MedTech companies lead to only one conclusion: develop first-class products in all respects!

We are happy to meet your challenges - just contact us if you have any questions.

Participating for the 6th time!

mtl-23_banner_exbitors_1080x1080px_part_of_it_en

From 23 to 25 May 2023, Nuremberg

Last year in Stuttgart, this year in Nuremberg: next week, MedtecLIVE with T4M will once again bring together users and suppliers from the MedTech industry. For the sixth time, the WILDDESIGN team will also take part. Sven, Niclas, Marc and Markus are looking forward to inspiring conversations with partners from our network and new faces. Among other things, we will be showcasing the heart support system Excor from Berlin Heart.

This year we will share a stand with our partner Benkana Interfaces, who perfectly complements us in the area of usability engineering.

We are looking forward to many visitors at stand 418 in hall 4 (water damage in hall 3c)!

...and for the first time!

hauptstadtkongress

What connects us designers with health policy?

Answer: our friends from the Institute for Work and Technology (Institut Arbeit und Technik), also located in the Science Park Gelsenkirchen, who invited us to their joint stand Netzwerk Deutsche Gesundheitsregionen e. V. (Network of German Health Regions).

June 14-16, 2023, Berlin.

At the Hauptstadtkongress, the latest trends in healthcare will be discussed and the focus will be on concrete innovations for healthcare. Naturally, this feels like the right place for us.

We are looking forward to inspiring discussions with new players and networks! Come and visit us!

Ivi: Bachelor thesis and internship at WILDDESIGN

Coverbild-321x209-2

How can flexible displays be used in medical technology?

Together with the Hochfrankenklinik Naila in Upper Franconia, working student Alicia Kastner-Pöhlmann developed the mobile healthcare device Ivi as part of her bachelor's thesis. With Ivi, medical professionals are able to document, view and forward information more easily - all in a networked workflow with their colleagues. The workload on staff is reduced and more efficient. With Royole's ultra-light, bendable, and shatterproof display, Ivi can be used as a wearable.

First Aid Kit: Rethinking First Aid - Design Sprint 20

Designsprint-20-Erste-Hilfe-neu-gedacht-scaled-321x209-2

When time is of the essence...

… a confusing first aid kit should not be an obstacle. In his sprint, design student Philipp Spiridi has designed a first aid kit that supports quick and intuitive action in an emergency. A clear color marking helps to identify the materials and their areas of application. The diverse first aid materials are transported as a folded bag and they can be quickly spread out along a fabric panel with individual compartments, providing quick access to the medical equipment.
