NEW WILDDESIGN MANAGEMENT
A new chapter begins
On January 1, 2025, I took over the management of WILDDESIGN – a big step for me and a new chapter for the company. Markus Wild is handing over the reins after 35 years and will remain with us as a consultant and industry expert.
My connection to WILDDESIGN goes way back: I started here as a student 25 years ago, became a designer, later an authorized signatory and CTO. Throughout the years, I have been part of the team that built WILDDESIGN from a small interdisciplinary studio in Gelsenkirchen to an internationally recognized medical design specialist with five locations.
Together with Oliver Koszel as COO, I will continue to lead the company. Oliver will take on central tasks in organization and team leadership - a valuable support in this new phase.
At this point, a special thank you goes to Markus Wild, who, with his trust, support and friendship, has made the many years we have spent together a formative and enriching time.
Now it's time to roll up our sleeves and shape the next chapter.

NEW MEDICAL WORLDS
Arab Health 2025 – Innovation meets reality
Dubai is a place of extremes: Icelandic glacial ice water on the supermarket shelves of a desert state, eight-hundred-meter-high skyscrapers with window cleaners who are free from vertigo, and a trade fair dominated by AI, robotics and digital medicine.
With 60,000 visitors and 4,500 exhibitors, Arab Health 2025 was a superlative event. Those who were prepared were able to delve deeply into industry topics, hold valuable discussions and be inspired. Those who were not were able to get lost in the hustle and bustle – or simply be amazed.
The big trends? Digitalization, AI and robotics were everywhere. But even where software dominates, ergonomics and user-friendliness remain crucial. A product must not only be innovative, but also intuitive to use – only then can it succeed in practice.
Our presence at the NRW.Global business community stand was well attended, and our latest designs were also on display at the stands of our customers and partners Löwenstein Medical, Erbe Group, Dräger, CORTEX Biophysik and BYTEC Medizintechnik. The quality of the discussions was so convincing that participation in 2026 is practically a done deal.
Arab Health 2025 showed that the industry is on the move – now it's innovation that counts, not standing still.

Awards
Magnos sweeps everything away – now also the iF DESIGN AWARD 2025!
What a series! After the Red Dot Best of the Best (Medical Devices), the German Medical Award in the dermatology category and a Focus Open Gold, the iF DESIGN AWARD 2025 for the user interface of Magnos now follows.
This confirms what we have known since the project began: the Magnos system sets new standards in dermatological diagnostics. The AI-supported technology detects skin changes at an early stage and supports doctors in making a quick and reliable assessment.
Our aim? Maximum clarity in the user interface. All relevant information at a glance, no distractions, no unnecessary complexity – because in the hectic daily routine of a practice, the interface has to do one thing above all: create trust through precision and reliability.
We congratulate Magnosco on this great success. When you sweep all the awards home, you know you've done everything right!

HISTORY
30 years of the Science Park – and WILDDESIGN has been there from the very beginning.
On March 23, 1995, the Science Park Gelsenkirchen was officially opened – as the first major project of the IBA Emscher Park and a symbol of the structural change in the Ruhr area. Where cast steel was once produced, new energy was introduced – with a glass roof, solar panels and a visionary usage concept.
And WILDDESIGN was right in the middle of it. We were among the first three tenants in the then brand new building. In 1998, we moved to the neighboring Rheinelbe start-up center for almost ten years – only to come “home” again in 2007: back to the science park where we still have our headquarters today.
Our office, by the way, is on the second floor – 50 meters long, with a view of the park. If you look closely, you can see the striking porch that juts out of the building like the bridge of an ocean liner.
30 years, one location, many stories. Today, the Science Park is a place for ideas, encounters and change – just as it was intended to be back then. And we are proud to be a part of it.

Traveler CLX – iF DESIGN AWARD 2025 for the smart ticket vending machine
Public transport can be complicated – but it doesn't have to be. With the Traveller CLX, ICA Traffic GmbH has created a new level of simplicity and efficiency in e-ticketing.
The eye-catching design with the iconic frame can now be found everywhere in the Ruhr area. Also on many other devices, such as ticket vending machines.
This innovative ticket terminal has been awarded the iF DESIGN AWARD 2025 and impresses with high visibility, intuitive operation and a design that facilitates access to public transport.
A great award for a project that shows how design can translate functional requirements into real user-friendliness. Congratulations to ICA Traffic!

Casestudy
Bladder irrigation after prostate surgery must be monitored regularly – a laborious task for nursing staff. The filaxONE system makes it easier.
It monitors the process digitally, detects post-operative bleeding at an early stage and informs the staff in good time. Our design approach: maximum function with minimum complexity.
Together with BYTEC Medizintechnik and the Filax team, we have created a solution that is efficient, intuitive and reliable.
